Join Us for the Last Brown Bag Lunch of the Season
The 2011 Brown Bag Lunch series was more popular than ever! ESLT has put on five free and informal talks on various subjects the first Wednesday of the month this spring and summer. These talks have allowed the public to learn about topics ranging from composting and raising backyard chickens to how to find and identify local wildflowers. The talks take place in the garden at the ESLT office on Home Street, and our last Brown Bag Lunch is coming up on October 5th. See below for highlights of the talks and information about our last Brown Bag Lunch!
April: Raising Backyard Chickens
May: Wildflower Blooms
June: Home Composting
September: Preserving the Harvest: Canning, Freezing, and Drying
October: Pam Vaughan on the making of the Bishop Book
Time/Date: Wednesday, October 5th, 12pm- 1pm
Location: ESLT Office Garden, 176 Home St. Bishop
If you haven’t checked out the new Images of America book on Bishop by Pam and Brendan Vaughan and the Laws Museum, you are missing out! This book features amazing photographs of Bishop through the years, accompanied by stories of town characters and everyday people living in Bishop. We are lucky enough to have Pam Vaughan at our next Brown Bag Lunch to bring this book to life and tell us the behind the scenes stories of the process of researching and compiling it.
