Breaking News: Funding Secured for New Conservation Project

We are very excited to announce that as of this morning the Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) has approved funding for one of our current land conservation projects known as Sinnamon Meadows, located in Mono County. SNC is a California state agency that enhances the Sierra Nevada region by providing support and funding for local projects, including conservation easements with significant public benefits. These grant funds will provide a portion of what will be needed to complete the conservation easement acquisition on this important property.

This current project includes high elevation irrigated pasture grazed by livestock, as well as very important habitat for the Bi-State population of greater sage-grouse, Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep, and many other wildlife species.  The property which is almost entirely surrounded by public lands includes mountain meadows, aspen groves, coniferous forest, springs, and several creeks.

We look forward to continuing work with the willing private landowner who chose to work with Eastern Sierra Land Trust on this project , in coordination with our other important partners. This project is well on its way and we look forward to letting you all know once it is completed.
