Another Way to Show Your Support: In-Kind Giving

There are many ways that you can contribute to ESLT’s land preservation efforts beyond your annual membership dues, and one is by donating an in-kind gift. Office supplies, furniture, electronic equipment, house parties, professional services, and many other types of in-kind donations go a long way towards helping us complete our important land conservation work. We are extremely grateful to those who donate items or services that we can put to good use.

That bigscreen monitor in our front office makes designing our emails and newsletters a breeze – even Rush Creek thinks it’s fabulous. Our thanks to Bill Dunlap for this generous donation!

Recently, Mike and Lenore Roberts donated a lovely (and hardy!) set of patio furniture for our new backyard, and Sherryl Taylor and Kathy Duvall both gave us houseplants to spruce up our new office. Bill Dunlap donated a super-sized monitor and computer that we now use every day, as well as a photo printer and a laptop computer – all of which have been enormously helpful around the office. Last summer, Jan Bowers donated a wildlife camera to help us catch a glimpse of the visitors that frequent our protected lands. Thank you all for these generous gifts – your support is instrumental to our work!

Another way to give in-kind is to host a house party to benefit ESLT. For those who live outside of the Eastern Sierra, this is a great way to share your support of ESLT with your friends, relatives, and neighbors who might not be familiar with our work. Last summer, Duke and Jan Ostendorf hosted a cocktail party and dinner at their home near Santa Monica, and Elaine and Doug Muchmore hosted a garden concert for their friends in La Jolla. We’re incredibly grateful for the hospitality of the Ostendorfs and Muchmores, and also appreciate that guests took time out of their busy summer schedules to visit and learn a little more about ESLT.  Thank you!

Businesses can also give in-kind, and we are very thankful for the donations made to assist us with Lands & Legacy and Art for Conservation in 2014. In particular, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Mammoth Brewing Company, Sonoma Wine Company, and Independent Project Press all made significant in-kind contributions to make our annual events a success.

Do you have goods or services that you think would be useful to us? Please consider making a tax-deductible, in-kind donation that will help us continue our work to protect the Eastern Sierra lands you love!
