Meet the Two New Faces at ESLT

All of us at Eastern Sierra Land Trust are thrilled to welcome two new fabulous women to our team! Brynn Pewtherer joined the ESLT Board of Directors earlier this spring, and Bishop local Lina Myers has recently joined us in the office part-time as our Administrative Assistant. We are delighted to introduce both Brynn and Lina to you, and look forward to working with them both in the months to come.

Before the Conservancy, she worked in environmental health as Senior Manager for Science and Education at The Breast Cancer Fund and in the U.S. EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance measuring the human health impacts of environmental regulations. Her graduate work was at Yale in the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and in the School of Public Health. Brynn, her husband and two daughters love the Eastern Sierra and visit often from their home in the Bay Area.

“I’ve been fortunate to travel to beautiful places around the world but the Eastern Sierra is MY place. Every single time, the mountains take my breath away, the clear high-country lakes call to me, the aspen trees flutter and wave to me as I hike by. The sagey air right after a thunderstorm. The warm butterscotch breeze of the Jeffrey pine forest. It’s home. My first backpack trip was when I was 2 1/2 in McGee Creek with my blanky in my daypack. I was married at the foot of Mammoth Mountain. It is now a privilege to share my love for the region with my two young daughters, helping them understand their role in caring for it now, and throughout their lives…

“This region, like so many parts of California, will increasingly feel the pressures of population growth, climate change, and drought in the years to come. How can we protect this region so people and wildlife continue to thrive? With other strong and committed organizations, families, and individuals on the Eastside, ESLT is poised to help maintain the beauty, ecological integrity, and productivity of this special corner of the state.” ~Brynn Pewtherer

Lina MyersLina Myers has been in the Eastern Sierra since the late 70’s. Inspired by the wilderness, dramatic scenery, and changing seasons, the move from the city to the mountains was a natural fit. Her enthusiasm for recreation activities, networking, and community events paved the way for employment opportunities in sales, public service, and bilingual education. After managing a thriving real estate office for years, she jumped at the opportunity to join the ESLT team – providing office support, behind-the-scenes input, and assistance with the success of many of our programs. When she isn’t glued to a computer screen, she spends time working in the garden, playing percussion, watching football, teaching her cats new tricks, and following the adventures of her adult children.

Welcome to the ESLT Team, Brynn and Lina!
