Pollinator Gardens Are Blooming – Come See!

Have you heard the buzz? All across the Eastern Sierra, butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees are busy at their work – and what an important job they fill! Pollinators like these keep local gardens, farms, and wildflowers flourishing, year after year.

Knowing how critical these pollinators are to a healthy environment, many gardeners are doing what they can to help butterflies and bees thrive.

They’re participating in our Eastside Pollinator Garden Project – and over the past four years, we’ve helped them create beautiful, unique growing spaces. Their Certified Pollinator Gardens provide much-needed habitat to the birds and insects that keep all of our gardens in bloom.

Join us on June 3 as we admire the lovely gardens these locals have created!

Pollinator Garden Tour

Saturday, June 3

To RSVP for this free tour, email indigo@eslt.org or call (760) 873-4554

You’ll have the chance to visit nine of these gardens in Bishop and Chalfant, touring at your own pace and in any order. Gardeners will be ready to welcome you and answer your questions about their blooming pollinator havens.

Each stop on the tour will feature a special activity – ranging from information on installing the perfect drip irrigation system, to a plein air painting demonstration, to fun craft projects for the whole family.

What’s more, anyone taking part in the tour is encouraged to stop by our office backyard at 9am to participate in a free community yoga class before the tour gets underway.
