Now Protected Forever: Sceirine Point Ranch
Congratulations – we did it!! Thanks to supporters like you, funding partners, and the long-term vision of local ranchers Joe and David Sceirine, the scenic and historic Sceirine Point Ranch is now protected forever.
Sceirine Point Ranch is a breathtakingly beautiful working ranch in Bridgeport Valley. At 2,375 acres, this historic ranch benefits our Eastern Sierra economy and provides an important home for wildlife like mule deer and sage-grouse. Now that it’s protected with a conservation easement, it will continue this way for generations to come.
This is the largest conservation easement that ESLT has ever completed. It’s a big win for local conservation – and your support made this success possible. We are so grateful for your help protecting this special place forever.
To assist the property’s landowners, Joe and David Sceirine, in fulfilling their vision for the future of their land, we worked with them to create a land protection agreement that limits future industrial, commercial, or residential development. Called a conservation easement, this legal agreement permanently protects the unique resources and conservation values found at Sceirine Point Ranch.
“We wanted to maintain our identity and preserve our lifestyle as cowboys and ranchers. It is my dream that three generations from now, Sceirine descendants not even born yet will be able to own and work this land to continue with our family legacy.”
-David Sceirine, landowner of Sceirine Point Ranch
